What This Archive Covers

InsulationCZ was established in 2024 as a documentation resource for practitioners, students, and property owners navigating the Czech insulation market. The archive focuses on three material categories — mineral wool, expanded polystyrene, and cellulose insulation — because these three account for over 90% of thermal insulation installed in Czech residential and light commercial buildings.

Each material is documented against Czech ČSN EN standards, national building regulations (particularly Decree No. 264/2020 Sb. on energy performance requirements), and publicly available technical data from manufacturers and certification bodies.

Editorial Approach

Content on this archive is prepared by contributors with backgrounds in building physics, construction engineering, and energy certification. Articles aim to document measurable technical characteristics — declared lambda values, fire reaction classes, compressive strength grades, vapour diffusion resistance — rather than promotional descriptions.

Where manufacturer data is cited, the source is identified. Where national standards are referenced, the relevant ČSN EN document number is stated. Reader feedback pointing to inaccuracies or outdated figures is welcomed through the contact form.
